Permaquik is a revolutionary line of products that uses the phenomenon of capillary action to enable waterproofing. It is a capillary waterproofing formulation that uses blends of chemicals (mainly organic and inorganic salts), quartz sand and cement. The chemicals contained in the products require the presence of moisture for the chemical reactions to take place. These complexes bond physically or chemically with the large amounts of moisture to prevent penetration and ultimately leaking. However, they do not clog the concrete or create a vapour barrier so the concrete is still able to breathe. The crystallization process  is ongoing as long as moisture is present in the concrete and over time, it significantly reduces the natural porosity and fills small voids and cracks caused by shrinkage.
